New Comments System

Hey all,

We've deployed a new comments system throughout the site that is tied in directly with your forum account. The old Disqus comments will be left up for a little while in case you want to repost anything from before. We'll also be looking into migrating the most useful of the old comments from Disqus to the new system.

To start posting, simply register an account here .

Lastly, we're looking into allowing more registration options via social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google in the future to further streamline things.

Feedback is appreciated, and please let us know if you see any bugs!

Anyone else having an error message when you try to create an account via the link above for the new comment system?

I'm confused, because you seem to have a user name and account ("FraeGuile"), so it must have worked for you at least once, right? Maybe it's giving you an error because you (apparently) already have an account?

Anyone else having an error message when you try to create an account via the link above for the new comment system?

If you already have a forum account, that is the same account to use with the comments system. If you cannot see the "post new comment" box on a page, please let me know!

How many points do I need before I move up the ranks from "New Member"?

Also, is it posted anywhere what the various user ranks are, and how many points it takes to attain each one?

Finally, will we someday be awarded points retroactively for posts we made using disqus before the new system was created?

There's a bug currently with the points system where it's not moving people to the correct rank group when they reach the required posts. I'm looking into it and will let you know when it's all working properly.
