To be fair, this was being reported as causing issues for some Android users, particularly there was some read/write error that ended-up causing players to re-install the APK and a few of them ended-up losing their progress, which could include actual money spent on Rick Club Credits, limited edition Mortys and Raid Mortys that have been awarded only once so far.

From an end-user perspective, it's more common for people to notice features that go away instead of new ones that get introduced with new releases. I remember this feature and remember that it was working fine. All that was happening was the game would go back to the title screen and you wouldn't have your Multiplayer or Campaign games in progress anymore. That's what it meant for players to make a cleaner exit and not worry about their data being corrupted from forcing the application to shut down manually. That said, it'd be interesting to hear from the developers why they took it off after it had been there for a while and seemed to be working just fine.
