How do I get my previous data back

I just re-downloaded the game and in the past, there was a button under 'settings' that let you restore a past game. for some reason now it just says 'delete save data.' I'm on the same phone I was using before and I went through the whole intro thing. I'm currently being told to heal my mortys at the healing center for the first time. please help lmao

The devs converted the game to automatically save and load data from the cloud. If you didn't previously have a cloud save and re-downloaded the app you may be out of luck in terms of recovering your data.

I have a similar question. My phone's finally got an upgrade to nougat, but installing it might wipe all my data. If it does, will the cloud save reload my game as it currently is if i have to re-install it? I've made some serious progress (finally got that Cronenberg Morty!!) and don't want to waste all this, uh, excellent use of my time. TIA for any help

If the game data was in the cloud than my google play status should be the same on my new phone. Same number anyway. I guess the cloud wanted to delete my progress

I should have mentioned that I'm using the native save & am not logged into Play Games..

This happened to me to, I have 16/17 badges but it made me restart the whole game. I played after April 3rd/4th, so it should've saved my data... ugh
